The M.S. Nordnorge is one of the Norwejian Coastal Voyages ferries. She is used in the Antarctic because of her ice rated double hull. Her sister ship, the M.S. Nordkapp hit a rock and tore a hole in the outer hull. The passengers of the M.S. Nordnorge made room for 320 additional passengers and crossed the infamous Drake Passage to Ushuaia, Argentina in one of the worst storms in recorded history. Waves as high as 25 meters (80 ft) rocked our ship for over 40 hours. What a wild ride!
